Facelift to Annapoorani Ammal School

Annapoorani Ammal Middle school in Saidapet is an old aided school. After the Trustees of the Trust that runs the school passed away, new Trustees are yet to take charge due to some issues. Hence there is no support from the Trust in running the school. The teachers of the school, who’s salaries are paid by the Government, do not wish to abandon the school. They are trying their best to keep the school running with their own funds and with the support of few donors.

The building is depleted, the compound wall and the space outside the school is in a bad shape. The acting HM, Mrs.Alli, approached Karam Korpom Foundation for some help towards the face lift of the school. We contacted a few potential sponsors and Innerwheel Club of Madras North readily came forward to sponsor the cost of painting the compound wall. Thanks to their support, KKF team got into action and organised the wall art event on 9th Oct 2021.

Volunteers came in large numbers and within few hours, outside of the school was transformed into a beautiful wall art. Thanks to Ms.Lakshmi, President and Ms.Arul Priya, Secretary of Innerwheel Club of Madras North for the sponsorship. Thanks to our volunteers for their involved effort and thanks to HM and the teachers of the school for their support. We hope to mobilize some more sponsors to give a complete face lift to the school.
