People art on the beach road

Wall art on the compound wall of Chennai lighthouse has become another milestone project of Karam Korpom. Being a prominent road leading to the beach, the theme used is “People on Beach”, depicting different characters who are an integral part of the beach. This has become an instant hit and almost all the people who walk by, pause for a while and enjoy the paintings. More importantly the local people are thrilled to see themselves on the wall. Some people even came up and requested their picture or trade to be depicted.The front side of the light house compound wall was made colourful. Our artists created a set of lovely nature paintings on the northern side of the compound wall which draws a lot of appreciation.Carried out over a week by few professional as well as Karam Korpom artists, this project was done under GCC’s “Namakku Naame Thittam”. The project was jointly funded by Zoho Corporation and GCC.This has been one of the most satisfying projects of KKF and the appreciation all around encourages us to continue our mission. Thanks to GCC officials, Zoho, Police personnel, Light house officials, local activists and of course the dedicated Karam Korpom Members for making this wonderful transformation, making Chennai more colourful.
